Mountain Creek Park

In June 2022, ETD completed the design and construction of Mountain Creek Park in Sherrills Ford, NC. This expansive 606-acre park is located next to Lake Norman and features 19.52 miles of multi-use trails. The trail network provides a variety of route combinations, allowing for a short & sweet loop or an all-day adventure.

Hikers, trail runners, and bikers of every ability can find a trail to enjoy at Mountain Creek Park. Trails are marked either multi-use, bike-only, or hike-only to enhance the experience of the trail users. Take your pick from easy (green), intermediate (blue), to most challenging (black diamond) trails. Despite not having a ton of elevation in the Piedmont, the climbs tend to be short, but there is a surprising amount of flowy downhill descent. E-bikes are allowed for those who want to ride fully charged.

You can also find a mountain bike skills course and pump track built by ETD. The park offers tool stations, pickleball courts, a dog park, a fishing pier, a canoe/kayak launch, an outdoor classroom, an observation platform, picnic shelters, and a paved ADA-accessible trail. There are endless opportunities for fun at Mountain Creek Park.

Trail Status: Trails close to biking and hiking based on wet conditions for both safety and trail conservation.
